Emperor Scorpion:
Perloo the bold is A-W-E-S-O-M-E. It is about a lazy montmer (rabbit-like creature with BIG feet, so big you can even go skiing on them!) named Perloo. One night while doing his usual reading Lucabara comes. Who's Lucabara, you ask? Lucabara is my favorite character because she is so adventurous and athletic. She is also Granter Jolaine's First Assistant. Who's Granter Jolaine? So many questions! Granter Jolaine is the leader of the montmers. READ THE BOOK! Follow Perloo as he goes on a crazy adventure full of war, betrayal, and yep, BOLDNESS. This is a great book for fantasy lovers like me. Now go and read the book! (Feb 13, 2006) Rating: 5

Perloo the Bold is a great book. It’s a great book because Avi does a good job of pulling you in on the first page and keeps you reading. It keeps you reading because one chapter is one story and the next chapter is a different story. The book is about a Montmer, which is kind of like a bunny, named Perloo. He has a good life of reading when the granter, who is like a king, calls for him because she has some secret info for him. After that he goes on a lot of adventures and it is a great story. I don’t recommend this book if you can’t remember two or three stories because there is more than one story going on. If you like adventure books you will love this book because Avi has a style of writing where when one adventure ends and another one starts, which I have always liked. (Nov 20, 2003) Rating: 5

Perloo the Bold is my FAVORITE book ever!! It is about a rabbit-like montimer named Perloo who lives as a simple book-reader. However when Granter (the term of ruler for montimers) Joliane dies, Perloo is called to be the next granter instead of Joliane's vain but cowardly son, Berwig the Big. After much hustle and bustle, Perloo ends up teaming up with the montimer's enemies: the wolven felbarts and ends up against the best montimer warrior-Senyous the Sly. Senyous ends up pleading for his life because Perloo threw a well-aimed snowball at him. The felbarts and the montimers become allies and Perloo becomes granter. He actually abdicated the settop (throne) and calls for democracy. (Oct 10, 2003) Rating: 5

Perloo was quite happy with his quiet life as a member of the Montmer tribe. He was content to curl up with a Montmer history book and a mug of tea. That is, until one day when Lucabara, Granter Jolaine's (the Montmers call their leaders granters, not presidents or kings or queens) first assistant, comes into Perloo's home in the middle of a raging storm to tell Perloo that Granter Jolaine is on her deathbed and has asked to speak to Perloo before she dies. Perloo relctantly follows Lucabara to the castle type thing to speak to his old friend. At the castle (let's just call it a castle because I don't know what the Montmer name for it is) Jolaine's evil son, Berwig, has already started to take over as Granter. But as Perloo learns from his conversation with Jolaine, Jolaine knows her son is evil, and does not want him to take over as Granter. She wants Perloo to take over. Berwig finds the proclamation Jolaine has written that says that Perloo will take over. He immediately starts searching for Perloo, as obviously Berwig wants to kill him so he can regain his position of power. So Perloo and Lucabara are forced to flee from Montmer land and begin a journey to make Perloo the Granter. On the way they will be captured by enemies and Perloo will have to make a decision that will affect Montmers everywhere. This is a great book. It's kind of confusing because you sort of have to figure out all the Montmer systems and all that stuff. But other than that, this is a wonderful book, Avi's best, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes adventure. (Jun 4, 2003) Rating: 5

Perloo the Bold is a very intriguing book about a Montmer named Perloo and all the adventures he goes through. Perloo loves to just curl up on his bed in his smock and read his book. One day Luburaca, the assistant to the current granter, bursts into Perloo's door with an urgent message: Perloo is to come to central Tribe Burrow immediately under the orders of Jolaine the sick granter. Perloo dejectedly gets up and follows Luburaca to the Central Tribe Burrow. Once he gets there he learns something that will change his life forever, after which Jolaine dies. Berwig, Jolaine's only cub, really wants to be and becomes granter. He also wants to get rid of Perloo and lies to the tribe. So Perloo and Luburaca run away during a storm, which has been going on for the whole book so far. They end up running right into the den of the chief of the Felbarts, the Montmers' enemies. Perloo decides to stay but Luburaca escapes, leaving Perloo to face a challenge greater than anything he has ever done before. This book was great because it was very suspenseful in between chapters which made me want to read more without stopping. I like books that are suspenseful. Avi also had a great writing style, making the book funny while also sometimes making me worry about the characters which also made me want to read more. If you like suspenseful books this is the book for you. (May 6, 2003) Rating: 5

THIS BOOK IS REALLY GOOD!! It is about a Montmer (something like a rabbit) named Perloo. He was friends with the Granter (leader). Granter Jolaine had one cub who she felt was not worthy of being the next granter. When Jolaine dies, Perloo receives shocking news: He is to be the next granter. Jolaine's cub, Berwig, is as shocked as Perloo. He wanted to be granter and lied to become it. Perloo has many adventures stopping Berwig and getting Montmer Freedom. He faces challenges and makes decisions(two things he never liked to do). This book is full of adventure and suspense. Once you pick it up you can't put it down. Anyone and everyone should read this really good book. (Apr 30, 2003) Rating: 5
